The History of the Modern Gas Mask
The gas mask as we all discover it at the moment evolved out of inventions over time that have been intended for use by deep sea divers, firefighters along with mine employees. A well known misconception in regards to the gas mask was that it was conceived by Garrett A. Morgan in 1914. Morgan’s creation didn’t appear to be nearly anything remotely like today’s mask and was merely a hood with a breathing tube that hung to the floor so a firefighter could draw breath through the lower, more refined layers of air along with battling a fire. It was later designed for the purpose of mine rescues where the tubes could be manipulated to circumvent flooded mine tunnels or gas loaded pockets. The exact ıssue of who manufactured the gas mask is to this day not successfully answered.
